About the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center

Since 1972 the brattleboro Museum & Art Center (BMAC) has curated and presented outstanding art exhibits that include both regional and internationally recognized artists; recent solo exhibitions includ Andy Warhol, Wolf Kahn, Jules Olitski, and Chris Van Allsburg. The Museum is known for its creative, interdisciplinary programming and for its explorations of global as well as community concerns. Shows are produced by staff and guest curators. BMAC has received national recognition in the form of highly competitive federal grants, most recently a 2007 IMLS (Institute of Museum & Library Sciences) Museum for America grant for its school-museum partnership, the Art & Literacy Connection.
